Salmon Arm Fall Fair 2024 

The Shuswap Photo Arts Club coordinates the Photography Division at the Salmon Arm Fair each year. The 2024 Fair will be held August 23, 24 &25, 2024. The Salmon Arm Fair's website is https://salmonarmfair.ca/.

ONLINE ENTRY FORMS CAN BE COMPLETED HERE.

Registration:
  • Online Registration is open until midnight August 9, 2024.
  • Entry Forms and fees (NOT exhibits) must be received by midnight Friday August 9, 2024. Mailing address is on entry forms.
  • In person entries will be accepted at the Log building (Church of Christ building on the south fairgrounds) Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Aug 7, 8 & 9 (see hours on www.salmon armfair.com).
  • Refer to Rules & Regulations from the Fair website for deadlines, times and procedures for entry, exhibit delivery and exhibit pick-up.
 
Regulations:
  • All photographs, complete with Entry Forms must be received by 7:00 pm on Wednesday Aug 21, 2024 at the Arts & Crafts Building.
  • Multiple entries of the same photograph in different classes is not permitted.
  • All entries are left at the risk of the owner, but all possible care will be taken to avoid loss or damage.
  • No photographs previously entered at the Fair will be accepted.
  • The convenors have the right to regroup entries if too few are entered in a class.
  • Judging will be done by Qualified CAPA judges who have no entries in this competition. Judging is “blind”, they do not see the photographer’s name at the time of judging.

All entries must originate as a photograph taken with a camera, (either film or digital, including cell phone), by the competitor.
​
​All elements of a composite picture must have been photographed by the competitor.
  • All prints must be on Photo Quality Paper, regardless of printing method used. **PLEASE NOTE MINIMUM PRINT SIZES IN DIFFERENT CATEGORIES**. Maximum print size including the mat is 16 x 20". All prints must be FIRMLY MOUNTED ON STIFF BACKING OR MAT WITH STIFF BACKING. (To watch a video on how to prepare photos for the Fair, click HERE)

  • No framed work or heavy backing will be accepted. On the back of the photos, at the upper right edge, print (in the following order) the Name, Address and Phone Number of the photographer, the Title of the Picture, and the Class Number.  No printing on front of photos.  If there is any question of photo direction, the entry will be judged and hung in the position indicated by this information.

  • The maximum number of entries per person is limited to 10, with no more than 2 entries in any single category. 
 
  • All entries MUST be picked up by the owner or by a designate with written authorization from the owner only between 5:00 and 6:00 p.m. on the last day of the Fair - NOT EARLIER OR LATER.  Photos not picked up by 6:00 p.m. will be discarded.
 
  • Competitors can class themselves as Beginner if they have never entered this competition previously in any class. Any class, except experienced, can be entered for no more than 2 years or must advance to the next class if they win or receive Honorable Mention in their entered class. Experienced Classes are open to all without experience, age or level limit.
 
  • Class 28 is provided for professionals, judges or others that just want to show their art.
